On Friday we let Chase skip school again. It seems this is becoming a regular habit and we don't mind! My mom really wanted to take him to the Dixie Classic Fair in Winston-Salem and I was excited for Chase. I was pretty bummed for myself because I initially had more visits on Friday than I had planned and I wouldn't be able to go with him to his 1st fair visit. Thank goodness for my awesome parents of the kids I see and the flexibility of my job because I was able to switch all my visits, so Chase stayed home with Daddy while Mommy did a 9:00 visit and then off to the fair we ventured. Daddy had work to do, so he stayed behind, but we met Bryson and Special K, Dawn and Granny at the fair.
Here is our experience in a nutshell: We paid $5.00 each for the boys to ride a pony~~well that didn't go over so well in their mind, so we got our money back. Haha!! We then spent $20 on 1 sheet of tickets (what a rip off!) and was excited to ride the kiddie rides! We strolled the boys right in the middle of the ride area. Chase was saying "hain" and pointing to the train ride, so we thought "Yay, what fun!" Let's just say Mommy got VERY upset at the ride conductor and said some things she later wasn't very proud of because he WOULDN'T let them ride. "Are you kidding me?" This is a kiddie ride, right??? The sign had 3 different colors (yellow=28 inches to 36 inches said, "With adult," green=above 36 inches "by yourself" and then I think red=above a certain inch was too big for the ride~ I can't remember exactly. To me, an educated person I must say, reading that sign meant I could ride with Chase since he is almost 32 inches, right???? Well this guy running the ride said that Chase was too little regardless and I couldn't ride with him! ARGH!! I argued my point and he went to find a higher authority of the rides, but I wasn't wasting anymore time. SO we decided to ride the "Big Truck" ride! We had a great time on this ride! Then the boys got to "go fishing" and won a duck stuffed animal. We also had some yummy fair food and played musical instruments with a washboard band to end the day!
My excuses for no pictures: I realized I walked out of the house and forgot both of my cameras once on the highway! I can't believe I did that! Dawn brought her Nikon, took 1 picture and the battery died. Special K had her camera but as soon as she turned it on she realized Bryson had "locked" it and she didn't know how to "unlock" it for the first 15 minutes.....then she fixed it and hasn't sent me the pictures on email yet.

I know how you are about your camera and you must have been devastated! I know I would have been. At least you all were able to have a nice family day together though. I don't know if you are aware of the promotion days at the fair, but I went to website for the Dixie Classic Fair and found this:
"Saturday, October 11th and Sunday, October 12th - Kids 7 and under can ride all Strates Shows Kiddieland rides for $8.00 (excluding pony rides), from opening until 5:00 pm."
