Cousin Haylie's 5th Birthday Party

Chase's cousin Haylie celebrated her 5th birthday party this past weekend. We had a great time visiting with everyone, but Chase had the most fun of all. He must have sensed we were going to hang out with her, because he stayed awake the entire drive there (a rare thing for him)! I just knew if he didn't sleep in the car, I could forget him taking a nap once we got there. I was right. He mastered staying awake by playing with Haylie and her cool toys. He loved all the small trinket things she owned. He was SO good while playing in her room. He actually didn't take any of her toys out. He only observed what she was playing with and sometimes he picked up a Dora doll and said, "Dor!" They shared a snack and watched a cartoon. I think Haylie adores him.

I honestly didn't think Chase would "bother" me while I consumed my ice cream cake....boy was I wrong. Generally he doesn't show interest in "big people food and desserts," but since he had that ice cream cone at Thanksgiving, maybe he changed. He definitely enjoyed the ice cream cake.
