This entire week (April 19-25) is the National "Week of the Young Child." Parents and teachers are encouraged to focus on their child's learning, abilities, and take the time to help them learn more about their self-being and their community. Each day this week, Chase and I have done some sort of activity together. I think he's enjoyed it, although it hasn't been much more than what we normally do at home. Today is also Earth Day! "Happy Earth Day" everyone! To help encourage Earth Day at Chase's school, we took each one of his friends in his class a plastic bottle to help fill with pieces of nature (rocks, sand, mulch, tree limbs, leaves, etc...). The teacher glued the lids on tight and each child has their own observation bottle. What a good way to recycle and help out our Earth. Tonight Chase's project was to create a poster of things he likes! We had a lot of fun making this poster. I'm so surprised that we found as many "actual" pictures of the things he likes. I'm sure we will do this again soon. I forgot to post a picture of Chase's self-portrait that we made on Sunday night. It's now hanging in his classroom....so if I remember we will take a picture and post soon.
