"Whatcha doin?...Eatin CHOCOLATE! Where'd ya get it..."

For those who know ME, please read with an open-mind that I ventured outside of MY NORM tonight!!! I have NEVER given Chase juice, cake (except his bday), or anything with a high amount of sugar. I just don't feel it's necessary right now. I am too busy worrying whether or not he's getting his protein, vegetables, fruits, grains, yogurt, milk, etc... and most of the time that's a struggle. Chase's favorite snacks are NOT my favorite....they consist of the Gerber Lil' crunchies and Cheetos...He just LOVES them. He enjoys any thing CRUNCHY! Tonight's dinner was much more of a struggle than most nights. He is cutting the right bottom molar and the gum is slightly slit...ouch. He whined a great deal of dinner and my patience was thinning. After he was all cleaned up, I decided I needed a break....some CHOCOLATE FOR MOMMY!! I stood at the island indulging in big heaping spoonfuls of CHOCOLATE ice cream and CHOCOLATE syrup and wouldn't you know, Chase was under my feet whining and wanting to be picked up. Like any mother, I picked him up and took a deep breath. I thought, "if chocolate makes me feel good...let's see if this cold ice cream will make his mouth feel better." I sat him on top of the island and gave him a spoon. I even tried to feed it to him using my spoon. I am not so sure he was interested in anything, but the spoon itself. He dipped his spoon in the container several times and placed it near his mouth, but didn't eat too much. Rich took pics and Chase said "cheese" in most of them!!! What a stress-free moment!!!!!

My goodness...he is SO STINKIN' CUTE!!!!

Look at all the mess under his legs :)

So adorable!!! Atleast he got something in him right? & calcium too!!! Magnesium from the chocolate....just trying to help Mommy feel better. =) The rules are made to be broken sometimes, and you got some super cute pictures in the process.

You're on the right track with the whole sugar thing as it is true that sugar lowers the immune system making one more prone to sickness. However, an occasional treat certainly won't hurt. It looks like you and Chase both needed some ice cream because clearly you both look so happy in the ice cream pics! Chocolate ALWAYS puts a smile on my face :)Landon got his first ice cream a couple of Sundays ago at church. Let me just say that he LOVES ice cream, especially chocolate just like his mommy!
