My BOY!

A true man~ Chase cracks me up everyday! I really believe he is the definition of a man: "A Hunter and Gatherer."

Every morning, afternoon, evening....no matter the time, he "hunts" for all of his favorite things: (paci, blankie, spoon(s), toothbrush(es), shades, vroom-vrooms (cars), hairbrush and comb, milk, choo-choo (trains), and Elmo, Ernie, and Cookie figurines)!
*This is really cute because each object has a special name that he has chosen. For instance, he has a handful of toothbrushes (Elmo, Baby Einstein, Animal, Thomas the Train, A red one, etc.) and he will individually call them until you hand him each one. He calls the Elmo toothbrush, "Elmo," the Animal toothbrush has a bunny on it, so he calls it, "Hop," the Baby Einstein toothbrush has a lion on it, so he calls it, "Roar," and he calls the Thomas toothbrush, "Choo-Choo."

All of these things are intricate little hand-held objects. He loves them. Once he "hunts" them, he "gathers" them up and carries them everywhere we go! Every morning our trip is prolonged because he continues to add one more thing to the batch! Each night, he carries them to the rocking chair and wants me to place them on the nightstand. I have heard him at 1:30am saying, "Elmo R U?" I seriously think he was talking in his sleep, but who knows. This was a couple of pictures I captured this morning with his favorite things. The "vroom-vrooms" were in the seat beside him as well as the toothbrushes. I tried to get him to hold them up, but he insisted the spoon.

A Great Day!

Despite the yucky rainy weather, I was determined to have a quiet and happy day! After a full day at work getting in and out of my car to visit all my little children, I picked up Chase from Co-Op. He ran full-force at me and said, "momma, momma" with a big GRIN! He literally made my day worth it! We then met my family in Kernersville for some yummy food at Olympic. That is one of my favorite "Mom & Pop" places to eat. I just love their Greek Souvlaki--yum, yum! Chase and Bryson had a good time at dinner. Of course they made huge messes and smiled the entire time. It was great food and good times. I love giving them the opportunity to hang out with one another. They are more like brothers than cousins. When we got home from dinner, Chase demanded to watch an episode of Elmo's world, so we did! We then played "chase, tickle, and run" from Mommy. He giggled so much before bedtime! I could have held him forever tonight while he fell asleep.

Hat Fun

Chase insisted he wear this hat and I wear the brown cowboy hat at school today....

Glue on a Paintbrush....HMMM

Chase and Ms. J worked on creating a snowman today at Co-op.....I think Chase's favorite part was eating the glue off of the paintbrush. :o)

McDonald's= Food and Playplace

After shopping we stopped for McD's and playtime....then home for night-night!

Sunglasses

Chase was excited that Memaw picked him up some shades at the Children's Place during our "sale" extravaganza....he didn't even wait for me to remove them from the packaging.

Daddy Cuddle Time

Poor Chase won't see his Daddy until Friday morning! Rich left for work on Sunday, so he and Chase cuddled for a few awhile before he left.

My 1st Harmonica

I have wanted Chase to have the "My 1st Harmonica" from Target for the longest time, so we finally got it! He LOVES it!!!!!! He is so precious to hear him play it.

"Floor" Artwork

You gotta' love CRAYOLA 'washable' markers! Chase enjoys creating artwork in all locations! He does not discriminate against anything! He actually sucked the color out of the blue marker on one side....so it looks pretty hilarious. One side is white and the other is blue!

Dave's 30th Birthday Party

We celebrated Dave's 30th Birthday on Friday night...I think everyone had a great time, especially the kids because they got to stay up later than usual. Poor Chase and Kaylyn were yawning and wanting their paci's and blankie's at 7:30pm. I think Dave was in shock about his present, but after it settled in, he and Rich were creating their game plan for their drive day!

Dave with his extra tall birthday hat, "old man" slippers, "over the hill necklace" and cold beverage!

This was how excited Kaylyn was about her Daddy's party

Chase thought wearing the crown was so much fun.

Chase closed his eyes in every picture with Marie....he thought he was so funny!

Kaylyn with her 2 favorite things for bedtime....it was around 8:45 in this picture

Aquadoodle

Toys on sale are AWESOME!

But no matter what the price, Chase will always eat art supplies!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Daddy was a little on the excited side when he opened his Birthday present. He received the Richard Petty Driving Experience....he's actually going to drive too! Me, Chase, my granny, my mom, Both of Rich's granny's and mom, and Dawn all chipped in to make this event happen. Marie and Dave will be going with us .....Dave got the Driving Experience for his Birthday too from his and Marie's family!

They Always Come Back

I tell Chase all the time, "Mommy and Daddy always come back.." Especially if he is sad when we drop him off at school, granny's or when one of us leaves the house. He was super happy to see us after our trip.

Chase's Week at Granny's

Unfortunately, I haven't received the pictures from Chase's week at Granny's, so as soon as I do, I will post them! Overall, he had a great week. A few rough patches, a couple of calls out to Mommy and Daddy, a few battles between him and his cousin and granny, food fights, shopping dates, Wizard of Oz and Elmo shows, lots of playing and destroying my mom's house, and I'm sure I'm leaving something else out..... I will think of it and post later! Hopefully the pictures will come soon!

Photos on The Plane Ride Home

We boarded and now on the way back home! As we arrived in Los Cabos we gained 2 hours, but leaving we quickly lost 2 hours in a matter of minutes.....the sun was out, the water was crystal clear, and then BOOM--sunset! The weekend sure caught up with us once it started getting dark.

Sorority Marking!!!

I always get my Sorority quarterly magazine and see a ton of ladies finding quadrafoils around the world.....Woo Hoo I found one too! Maybe I can submit this for the magazine!

Going Back to Carolina

Our farewell beach picture before heading to the Airport! Rich found his ring in this general location earlier that morning...

Pointing towards Carolina

"Flamingo"

There was a flamingo park at our resort.....I think my husband is envious of their long legs :)

A Day of Snorkeling

Rich and I went out on another "all you can drink/eat" boat on Sunday to snorkel. Why they would serve you alcoholic beverages before you get into the ocean to snorkel is beyond me....I'm still pondering that. Although I didn't capture any photos of Rich and I in our awesome snorkeling attire or the coral reef and fish....I did upload some of the boat ride. I took my nice Nikon camera and forgot to bring a waterproof camera on this trip. Oh well. The snorkeling was great. I always get anxiety before snorkeling, but quickly calmed down. This was Rich's first time and I think he enjoyed it. The fish were SO close to us! The water was freezing though, so we didn't stay in the full hour.

*Above* you see a rock full of sea lions. They were so cute.....and they were *talking* the whole time we drove by!

*Below* is the famous arch upclose

Rich and I in front of the arch!

The Peddlers!!!!! WATCH OUT

Any time you travel out at night these poor desperate kids approach you and try to sell you their trinkets..... One of the little girls next to Rich tapped him on the arm and said, "Please senor, make my day!" We usually just gave them the money and denied the whistle, toy, etc..

Starbucks in Mexico

No matter where I travel....I always look for *FIVEbucks*

Our Room View

It was so beautiful from our balcony!

One Crazy Cab Ride

After the awesome Dinner Cruise we took a cab back to the resort......Javier was the name of the cab driver and I do not think he knew what he was getting into when he decided to drive us!!!! Our friends on the Dinner Cruise gave us "to-go" drinks, not that we needed them, but this was our chance at vacation without parental duties, so we took advantage of the situation----not to mention we didn't have to pay for them! We asked Javier to turn on the radio, but lucky us--he had some awesome CDs in "English." Rich and I, in our awful drunken voices sang LOUDLY!! Javier was a trooper and laughed the entire ride! Once we arrived at the resort we invaded the Bride and Groom's room.....she laughed as soon as she opened the door and then demanded we go shower and change clothes and go with them to El Squid Roe again. We were game! We planned to meet them in the lobby at 8:30pm. We showered and then we woke up at 3:30am!!!! Oh My Gosh.....we slept through the party! It was probably in our best interest! We had the best day and night ever!!!

Whale Watching on the Dinner Cruise

We did more than just "eat and drink" on the Dinner Cruise....we watched whales!!!!! WOW! They sure got close to us! Thank goodness we were on a boat larger than they were....however, there were a few inflatable boats chasing them....we were rooting for the Whale!
